The actual trips start in Islamabad, the modern capital of Pakistan and we drive on Karakorum Highway, one of the wondrous achievements of humankind with breathtaking views of Rakaposhi, Diran Peak, Shisper peak 7611 meters, Ultar peak 7388 meters, Passu Peak 7478 meters, Karon Koh (7200 meters, and the Batura massive 7500-7785 meters, so many Karakorum giants. Every day of the trip turns to be fascinating making the whole of the trip an incredible lifetime experience. While trekking, we can get an opportunity to see the Wakhi peoples’ summer life style as they venture to summer pastures to graze their cattle and yaks.

 

The 65km long Batura Glacier, one of the fourth-longest Karakoram glaciers, stretches west from the KKH for 56km. The trek’s exceptional scenery includes 14 peaks higher than 7000m and huge Ice floes plummeting more than 4000m from the Batura Wall to the glacier. Most of the trek is through ablation valleys and along streams. With almost no steep segments, it affords gradual acclimatization and presents no major difficulties. Even the trek’s two glacier crossings are relatively easy. Trekkers also get a glimpse into the unique way of life of Passu villagers, who tend livestock in the summer pastures along the glacier’s north margin.

Trekking Tours in Pakistan

Day 1 Islamabad:

You will be greeted by the team of Tour De Rakaposhi at Islamabad International airport then transfer along with your luggage to the centrally located hotel in Islamabad.
Distance: 30 km / Driving Hours: 01 hr / Altitude: 540 m / Activities: Sightseeing.

Day 2 Islamabad – Chilas:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Chilas en route we will stop for photography, lunch break and toilet stop then further drive to Chilas via Babusar Pass arrival in Chilas check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Chilas.
Distance: 460 km / Driving Hours: 11 – 12 hrs / Altitude: 1265 m / Activities: Sightseeing.

Day 3 Chilas – Karimabad Hunza Valley:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to the Karimabad Hunza sightseeing en route we will stop at the junction point of the three greatest mountain ranges where they meet at the same then we will have a lunch break at Rakaposhi viewpoint then further drive to Karimabad Hunza arrival in Karimabad Hunza check in at hotel after a short rest then we will go for the sunset Safari at Eagles nest. Overnight stay in Karimabad Hunza Valley.
Distance: 220 km / Driving Hours:06 hrs / Altitude: 2400 m / Activities: Sightseeing.

Day 4 Karimabad Hunza Valley – Baltit – Altit Forts:

In the morning after breakfast, we will visit Baltit Fort Karimabad local bazaar, Altit Fort, Altit old village and in the afternoon we will do the water channel walk. Overnight stay in Karimabad Hunza.

Day 5 Karimabad –Hopper – Attabad – Gulmit Upper Hunza Valley:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Hopper Valley after lunch then we will drive to Attabad Lake boating in Attabad Lake then further drive to Gulmit arrival in Gulmit check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Gulmit Upper Hunza Valley.

Day 6 Gulmit – Borith Lake – Suspension Bridges:

This day is very interesting, as in the first nearly half an hour we will drive to Hussaini Village and we will visit Hussaini suspension bridges, then we will drive up to Upper Borith walking up to the viewpoint of Passu white glacier then drive to Passu village after lunch then we will have a village visit after completing the visit then we will drive back to Gulmit. Overnight Stay in Gulmit Upper Hunza Valley.

Day 7 Gulmit – Yunzben:

After breakfast starts our trek on dusty trails at the snout of the huge Batura Glacier, one of the longest glaciers in the region.Overnight Camping at Yunzben.
Trekking Hours: 3- 4 hrs / Altitude:2880m / Activities: Trekking.

Day 8 Trek – Yashpirt:

After breakfast starts the trek to Yashpirt by diagonally crossing the Batura Glacier. This is a tiresome day with a lot of walking on rocks and the moraines of Batura. Yashpirt is a beautiful high meadow with many shepherd huts and fantastic views of the Batura peaks and the famous Batura ice fall across the glacier.

We can see DistaghilSar (7,885 m.) from here. DistaghilSar is the highest most western mountain in Trans-Himalayan and one has to go around the globe to come back to the eastern Himalaya to find such high peaks. Overnight Camping at Yashpirt.

Day 9 Trek – Guehesm:

This takes about 5 to 6 hours and involves crossing mountain streams. On the way, we see families from Passu with their yaks, sheep’s and cows in their summer homes. On our right is the ever-present huge batura massif wall. Overnight camping at Guehesm.

Day 10 Guehesm – Lupdor excursion:

After breakfast full-day excursion to Lupdor.The valley full of flowers ends at Lupdor, two hours beyond Guehesm which is 20 km from the muzzle of the glacier. From here on the only way is on the glacier. There is a technical trek northside from Lupdor which is over a (5,200 m) pass up to Chapursan Valley. Overnight Camping at Guehesm.

Day 11 Guehesm:

We have ample time to wash, read, and just explore the beautiful and awesome environment or go a litter higher for a day hike to visit the surrounding areas. Overnight camping at Guehesm.

Day 12 Trek – Yashpirt:

Retrace your footstep down the valley to Yashperth. Overnight camping at Yashpirt. Trekking Hours:05-06 hrs / Altitude:3300m / Activities: Trekking.

Day 13 Trek – Yunzben:

Follow the trail to Passu via crossing the glacier to Yunzben and then drive to Gulmit. Overnight camping
at Yashpirt.
Trekking Hours:07-08 hrs / Altitude:2880m / Activities: Trekking.

Day 14 Excursion – Khunjerab Pass:

Full-day excursions to Khunjerab pass (The border between Pakistan and China). In the olden days, there were few highs passes leading from China that were suitable for travel. Today the Khunjerab Pass, which at an altitude of 4733 m the highest point in the world on the Karakorum highway, provides an easy all-weather entry from Pakistan to the famous Sinkiang province of the people‟s Republic of China. This route is a beautiful drive, with views of the high mountains of the Karakoram & the distant Pamir mountain ranges. At Khunjerab, now declared a national park, one can see Marcopolo Sheep, Snow leopard, Himalayan Ibexes. In the evening return back to the hotel.

Day 15 Exploring – Gulmit Upper Hunza Valley:

In the morning after breakfast, we will visit the sites in Gulmit the Old house 700 years old, the cultural museum, Gulmit Old town, and the Community based school and in the evening we will visit the Local traditional house of Upper Hunza Valley for the local dinner. Overnight Stay in Gulmit Upper Hunza.

Day 16 Gulmit – Gilgit City:

After breakfast drive to Gilgit en-route short stop at Rakaposhi viewpoint for photography then further drive to Gilgit, we will visit the bazaar in order to familiarize ourselves with the customs of the Gilgit’s, a stop at the cooperative store, where Chinese goods are bought on the barter system will allow us to glance at Chinese treasure, we will then take a hair raising drive across Asia’s longest suspension bridge – 600 feet long and wide enough only for one car at a time arrival in Gilgit check in at hotel after a short rest then we will visit Gilgit local bazaars. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

Day 17 Gilgit – Naran / Besham:

In the morning after breakfast drive to Besham sightseeing en route arrival in Besham check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Besham.
Distance:335 km / Driving Hours:09 hrs / Altitude:615 m / Activities: sightseeing.

Day 18 Besham – Islamabad:

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Islamabad en route we will visit the Taxila Museum then further drive to Islamabad arrival in Islamabad after lunch then we will visit Faisal Mosque, Lok Versa, Saidpur Village, and Daman Koh and farewell dinner party then we will drop you at the airport.
